The
release of their debut CD simply titled Breakin' Strings
tributes Jim and Jose's roots in pop/folk music with an
emphasis on vocal harmonies. Forming an acoustic duo had
an appealing quality of intimacy with the audience that
was never captured while performing in a rock band for
many years.
In
the style and complexity of such artists as the Beatles,
James Taylor, Paul Simon and the Indigo Girls, their
songs echo of personal struggle, hope and triumph.
Their newest release titled
“Mother’s Sunshine” broadens the simple, stripped down arrangements of the first
album by producing a disc that continues the unique blend of the duo’s songwriting, vocal and acoustic style and combines it with full musical arrangements on most of the 12 featured tracks.
Jim
and Jose generally compose material individually then
coming together on the final arrangements, creating a
freshness and excitement to their work which transcends
them both to become the music of Breakin' Strings.
